Job Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and manage firewalls including Palo Alto, CISCO ASA, and Checkpoint to safeguard critical infrastructure and data.
Develop and maintain security policies and rules adhering to best practices, organizational requirements, and risk management frameworks.
Conduct regular system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and performance monitoring to ensure the security and efficiency of firewall operations.
Collaborate with the IT security team to devise and execute a comprehensive network security strategy.
Document all configurations, modifications, and security policies related to the firewall infrastructure.
Offer technical support and guidance to team members and other staff on network security concerns and firewall functionalities.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, technologies, and automation practices to continually enhance firewall security and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in firewall administration, specifically with Palo Alto, CISCO ASA, and Checkpoint products.
Thorough understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and firewall technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex security systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment and with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in documenting processes and procedures clearly and accurately.
Preferred:
Certification in Palo Alto (e.g., PCNSE), CISCO, Checkpoint, and/or CISSP.
Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (Python, Bash) for efficient firewall management, rule provisioning, and log analysis automation.
Experience in implementing and managing advanced firewall features such as intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and application layer filtering.
