General job duties.
Types of procedures requiredThe RN – Med/Surg Float – Bend provides quality patient and family centered care as a member of the health care team in accordance with SCHS mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Applies standards for professional nursing practice and focuses clinical care to enhance the experience for patients, families, and all others. As a nurse, this position will oversee the work of other caregivers, providing specific care to assigned patient(s) throughout the shift, as required under the scope of the RN licensure.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.EPIC=Electronic Medical Record, Pyxis=Medication System
Required skills and minimum years of experience.A minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience. Must have a current Oregon RN license.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)BLSActive OR RN license
Shift or schedule requirements.12 hour shifts.The employee would never work alone and no call is required.Weekend requirement is every other weekend.
Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)Bend (Medical, Surgical, Ortho/Neuro, and Rehab)requirement for ability to float to all 4 campuses (Bend, Redmond, Madras, Prineville)
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.Bend 250 beds-Redmond 50 bed
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)No set ratios; assignments based on acuity. Generally on days 4-5 patients and nights 5 patients; taking 6 on very rare occasion.
Dress Code:Caregiver’s own scrubs and close-toed shoes
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.Unit specific department training/orientation available. 1-2 twelve hour shifts for a seasoned traveler.
