Position Summary:

To provide Occupational therapy services to support academic and non-academic outcomes, including social skills, behavior management, self-help skills, prevocational/vocational participation and more.

The focus is on the students' strengths and can design and implement programming to improve accessibility. The role is to educate parents, educators, administrators and other staff members. Consult with the education team to support student success by offering services along a continuum of prevention, promotion and intervention. Services are provided in a "Push-in" model to support students' participation in the educational programs.

Essential Functions:Develops and maintains occupational therapy services to students grades 9 to 12.Creates and implements intervention strategies / programs to support the student's educational programs.Evaluates students currently receiving services as least annually to prepare of new IEPEvaluate identified students to determine if OT services are needed.Provides students with direct and/or consult occupational therapy.Instructs other members of the educational team including Teachers, Paraeducators, Interveners, 1:1/PCA's and family members in the goal and implementation of the occupational therapy program.Assists with ordering personal equipment for students and equipment used by the school that is needed for implementation of therapeutic programs to promote progress.Maintains accurate and current student records according to the Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives, including progress monitoring, Quarterly IEP Updates, Progress Reports, Session Notes, etc.Collaborates with a team that includes the students, parents, teacher, OT, PT, O&M and Audiologist to prepare students for successful transition and age-appropriate lessons, activities, and materials.Maintains students, staff and family information confidential at all timesDevelops IEP goals and objectives and contributes information on assessment results in both the RE and IEP documents.Participates in student team meetings and IEP meetingsContributes in writing evaluations results and recommendations, Individualized Education Program, progress notes, progress monitoring, letter of medical necessity, written communication with parents, daily session notes, etc.Participates in scheduled meetings and in-service training to maintain current trends, interventions and best practices in the field.Maintains current clearances and required trainingsPerforms additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy with OTR CertificationMust have a current Pennsylvania License.with experience as a School Occupational Therapy Experience(working with students)Experience developing and implementing in-services programs and workshops.Must be reliable, attentive, motivated and flexible.Excellent problem solving and leadership skills.Must be current with CPR/AED and First Aid.Proficient communication skills (oral and written) and confidence in conveying information to all types of members of the community, including teachers, administrators, other staff members and students.Commitment to the institution's needs and readiness to respond in a timely manner.Physical Requirements:

Requires prolonged sitting and standing.Repetitive motion of the finger and hands for the computer keyboard.Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials/equipment.Requires stooping, bending and reaching.Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Expected Hours of Work: 8:15AM; 5 hours a week | Once a week
