IT Operations Technician - Days (FT)

Description JOB SUMMARYSupports Information Services operations hardware and related equipment, which includes installation, day-to-day maintenance, and inventory control. Assists in computer related problem analysis, and contacts outside vendors for additional support when needed. Assistance in the evaluation, selection, development, design, and implementation of operations computer systems used to provide information to managers and end users as necessary. Provides primary technical support for the operations function of the Information Services department; this includes all equipment that the operations function is responsible for.Job Specific:Answers telephone calls to triage issues. (EF)Assists users with issues that can be dealt with on phone or remotely. (EF)Goes to users location to assist with issues that can't be dealt with remotely. (EF)Assists in inventory of IT items. (EF)Assists members of Technical team when necessary. (EF)Assists members of Systems team when necessary. Minimum Requirements EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequired: College emphasis in computer science and comparable experience in:Operation of personal computer and midrange systemsComputerized file manipulationProgrammingHardware set-up, diagnostics, and maintenance of personal computers, midrange computers, and related equipmentEXPERIENCERequired: Minimum one year's experience in computer related field and/or hospital information systemsKnowledgeable in micro and mini computing, interfaces, networking, and systems analysisTechnically strong in computer applicationsDemonstrates ability and knowledge to evaluate computer performancePreferred: UNIX, DOS, Windows, Windows NT, and Cloud Computing preferredCOMPANY PROFILECitizens Medical Center is a not-for-profit, community hospital known for compassionate patient care, clinical expertise, and bringing advanced medical services to the South Texas region since 1956.
