Responsibilities: About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Innovation Lab GenAI Software Engineer III to be responsible for developing and maintaining GenAI software solutions that support the innovation lab's mission of driving innovation within the company and create an experimentation testbed for trying out new ideas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices, as well as a passion for innovation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive those experimentation and POCs, incubate them and materialize the successful ones. Develop and maintain GenAI software solutions that support the innovation lab's projects. Build systems using cloud technologies to train AI models on large data sets and enabling these models to generate new, original content. Developing UI, microservices and infrastructure as code specifically for solutions utilizing GenAI. Develop, code, test, and build CI/CD and AI/ML Ops related infrastructure to support GenAI specific initiatives. Contribute to end-to-end management of AI solutions. Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into software specifications. Implement software solutions using a variety of programming languages and technologies. Work with business owners to build on new ideas, evaluating concepts and handing it off to development teams. Support the entire GM Financial enterprise to test out ideas quickly and work with various groups within the organization. Run with an Agile approach, to quickly provide results and regularly provide updates from its findings. Document software solutions.
Qualifications: What makes you a dream candidate? 4+ years of experience in software development. 3+ years Experience working as a cloud developer (Preferably on Azure) The Innovation Lab group requires engineers who will be dedicated to building out the initial innovation environment and platform.
Full grasps in building microservices in the cloud: C#, Node.js, Azure etc.
Experience in building cloud-native microservices using containers with Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless technologies.
Proficiency in Relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB, CosmosDB.
Knowledge in AI-centric programming knowledge such as Python, and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
Possess data management knowledge, including data pre-processing, augmentation and generation of synthetic data.
Understanding of ethical AI practices: designing generative AI systems which are fair, transparent and respectful of privacy.
Proven experience in delivering generative AI solutions.
Strong presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
