JOB SUMMARY: Take direction from Shipping Supervisor or lead to accomplish set shipping goals. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift used to load trucks, supply packaging materials, and transport product to and from the shipping areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for truck loading and unloading.Stages product and responsible for inspecting shipping tags and documents to insure accuracy.Perform general cleaning of loading dock areas.Assist in training of co-workers as directed.Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs.Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Effectively communicate with all levels of employees.Attend meetings and trainings as requiredAssist in promoting a positive working environment.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.Must be able to work overtime or weekends if needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to obtain a forklift operator's license.Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures.Ability to multitask and work quickly.Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.Must wear PPE as designated by company policy.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Forklift operator experience preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
