Establishes and conducts the functions of quality/risk management that are required on a daily basis including scheduling, variance report follow-up, setting up interviews, RCA investigation sessions, complaint and grievance, data collection, document submission and information requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
Investigates safety events and reported safety concerns.Track deadlines and ensure that required documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.Communicates with patients, staff, and leaders in person, over the phone and via email.Assures that programs, initiatives, processes and policies are in compliance with state, federal and other accrediting bodies/regulatory agencies.Performs research when requested.Appropriately handles requests and queries for information.Manages data collection, compiles data and submits accurate data in a timely manner as required by regulatory agencies or as part of any initiative. Creates graphs, tables and other data displays.Assists in the implementation of departmental quality and risk initiatives.Assists in the implementation of departmental quality initiatives and analysis of outcomes data. Analyzes, shares, and assists with interpretation of outcomes data with appropriate staff, medical staff and customers.Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, CMS, state and local agency laws, internal/external regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures.Works in multiple software systems as assigned.Serves as chapter leader for designated Joint Commission chapters as assigned by Director of Quality and Risk to include ensuring that all applicable elements of performance are addressed and monitored.Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Excellent computer skills, including the use of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Word.Ability to lead groups in quality/performance improvement initiatives and work with directors/managers to develop quality initiatives.Basic analytical knowledge and skill needed to help directors/managers establish ways to measure performance and progress towards desired improvement goals.Must be well organized and able to set priorities.Must be detail oriented as well as possess excellent communication skills. Discretion and integrity are recognized requirements.EDUCATION
Minimum associate degree of nursingBaccalaureate degree in nursing preferredEXPERIENCE
Requires 3-5 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Prefer at least 1 year of quality experience.CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
