Description
Position Summary
Your primary role is to partner with and support one or more Senior Loan Officer(s) to assist with mortgage loans in a branch environment. This position interacts directly with customers and Realtors.
Essential Responsibilities
Understand loan documents, mortgage process and loan origination system to effectively manage an application through the system (including copying, scanning and uploading, etc...)Assist mortgage loan officers with gathering all necessary documentation from borrowers to ensure timely receipt of a mortgage loan pre-qualification.Track all outstanding items with borrowers to ensure timely receipt of necessary documentation.Work with processors and closers to help insure an effective process from initial borrower contact to loan closing.Maintain effective communication on loan status with applicants, realtors, other third parties and staff.Assist Senior Loan Officers with the preparation and distribution of marketing materials.Effectively maintain mortgage filing system and perform general clerical/administrative tasks as necessary.Secure and maintain NMLS Certification.Stay informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market and the competitive environment, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages.Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.Responsible for a high level of confidentiality and security while handling personal information; verbal and/or written documentation.Assist and support mortgage loan officers by performing other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Employee must at all times be able to meet any and all applicable qualifications and standards required for Loan Officer Licensure under the SAFE Act.Ability to read, write, and communicate at a level consistent with the requirements of this position and to generate independent leads for new business.Must be comfortable working with the public, and able to make good decisions and meet deadlines.Ability to write accurate reports and documents; holds self to a high level of quality.Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic to obtain personal and company goals.Ability to stay organized to easily retrieve information and documents as needed.Must be able to work flexible hours and be willing to travel. Must possess a valid driver's license in the appropriate state.Flexibility to adapt to peak periods of heavy workload and pressure.Experience and Training
High School Diploma or equivalent.A minimum of two years' experience in the mortgage industry, preferred.Experience with Construction and Government loans; FHA, VA & USDA, preferred.Proficient with MS Office including Word and Excel.Some exposure to marketing and/or preparation of advertising materials.Employee must remain current on any and all applicable registration, licensing and training obligations required under the SAFE Act and/or any other state, federal or local laws pertaining to Loan Officer Certification or standards.Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
Mostly sedentary, however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; talk and hear.Extensive reading and computer use is expected more than 50% of the time. Receiving and expressing detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone is essential. Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position.Work Environment:
Professional atmosphere in a branch environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.Care must be observed while driving - absolutely no texting while driving.
