Job Summary:
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
This paid broadcast intern will assist in updating existing departmental documentation to include ongoing updates. These updates will help guide new and existing staff a working guideline of how to effectively conduct official business.
The intern will work and communicate with committee staff to ensure that current needs for any upcoming hearings are being met. This would include any audio, video, or miscellaneous items are accounted for during any official committee event. This position will also assist in preparing studios for upcoming appointments, operating cameras and other production equipment. This position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
*paid at an annual rate of $35,677 not to exceed 120 days
** The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:•Scheduling, configuring, and preparing production studios for appointments•Supporting and maintaining several video conference rooms equipped with racked audio and video equipment.•Providing superior customer support to all users, including senior-level Government executives.•This person should be able to troubleshoot audiovisual equipment and work with audio systems, video systems, control systems along with computer hardware and software.•Sets up and operates projection systems, audio systems, microphones, and room control systems.•Able to assist presenters with PowerPoint software and computer interfaces to the AV systems.•This person should be able to strategize, write and produce engaging videos.•The successful candidate will complete the internship with a broad experience in the area of video production relevant to new professionals entering the field.•Providing additional program support services and other tasks as needed
