GW Hospital achieved "high performing" status in six specialty areas:

Neurology and Neurosurgery; Orthopedics and Lung Surgery; Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery; Urology and Geriatrics , along with receiving "high performing" designations for the following eight common procedures and condition areas:

Job Summary :George Washington University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). The IMC serves patients who require a higher level of care than a general medical-surgical unit but do not need the intensive care of an ICU. This role involves providing patient-centered care, close monitoring, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring intermediate care, including those with complex medical conditions and those transitioning from ICU.Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to changes in patient conditions promptly.Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies.Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards.Main Benefits:

Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C., or be DC eligible.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.At least 1 year of nursing experience in acute care settings.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while working within an interdisciplinary team.
