Head of Revenue Accounting and Operations
who will work closely across multiple teams within the company to address technical accounting and operational matters with a sole focus on revenue accounting in the application of U.S. GAAP. This role is accountable for building the Quote to Cash/Revenue process.What You’ll Do:Communicate and coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Product Engineering, Revenue Operations, and Billing); lead process improvement and system implementation projects amongst the cross-functional teams, primarily related to the Quote to Cash/Revenue cycle.Lead revenue accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate accounting of monthly close and reporting. Work closely with the company's external auditors to support financial audits.Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures, as well as stay up to date with revenue standards to ensure best practices within our industry.Oversee contract review to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and lead the preparation of accounting memos supporting revenue positions.Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations in the area of responsibility.Develop and maintain internal controls for revenue recognition and lead continuous review and improvement of revenue systems and business processes.Maintain compliance with indirect sales and use tax.About You:10+ years of leadership experience with revenue accounting and reporting, system implementations, process improvement, and internal controls/SOX, including experience working in a publicly traded Software Company.In-depth knowledge of Revenue Recognition standards (ASC 606) is required.Big-4 experience will be a strong plus.CPA is a strong plus.Hands-on exposure to quote to cash systems, Salesforce, and NetSuite, preferred.Excellent quantitative and analytical skills accompanied by verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with cross-functional teams.Ability to think outside the box, comfortable with ambiguity, and provide suggestions and guidance in addition to having strong technical knowledge on revenue recognition.Flexibility and willingness to pivot to new priorities in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.What Else?This role is based in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, and the role ranges from $175,000-$245,000.
