Sr.

Manager, Software Engineering , you’ll pioneer innovative ideas around product strategy. You’ll also serve as an advisor to other managers, supporting plans to improve organizational design and structure.As a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering you will guide the multiple teams in Riot’s Player Platform group as they create solutions that scalably handle central services for all our players and games. You will ensure our players have the best possible experience with their first engagement with Riot’s games and help provide integrations for our games to these services. You will mentor and grow a team of engineers, passionately focused on their careers and individual strengths.Responsibilities:

Manage multiple teams of 6-10 software engineers ranging from associate-level to principal-levelSupport a team working collaboratively with product, delivery, technical, and quality leadsHelp us with design, code and release processes for the products and solutions produced on your teamMentor software engineers, building career paths with them to help meet their goalsDesign the team makeup so that it has the skills and staff needed for our goalsEnsure the products we are building are serving our customers long-term goalsBalance short-term and long-term needs to ensure stable, operational, extensible services and SDKsRequired Qualifications:

4+ years as an Engineering Manager/Director of Engineering working on teams that ship business-facing software6+ years professional experience as a software engineerExpertise with continuous development and deployments of large-scale systemsExpertise in project management, prioritization frameworks and guiding investment strategies in people and systemsDesired Qualifications:

Experience leading software products that use Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and TerraformExperience with globally deployed platforms as well as distributed teamsExperience defining and delivering technical solutions to technical usersFor this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work.
