We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud and Data teams, driving the development and scalability of cloud infrastructure, on-premise systems, and data pipelines. This role will oversee the design and implementation of reliable, secure, and scalable systems to support our rapidly growing operations, while managing cloud billing and permissions.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage Cloud Billing and Permissions:
Oversee cloud usage and optimize billing strategies to manage costs effectively while maintaining compliance with cloud access controls.
Develop Cloud Infrastructure Standards:
Build and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure and services used across engineering teams, ensuring consistent, reliable delivery of cloud-based solutions.
On-Premise Systems Development:
Design and deploy on-premise server systems that replicate or closely mimic cloud functionality to support customers requiring internal networks or security restrictions.
Data Infrastructure and Pipelines:
Lead the design and implementation of efficient data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring scalable data solutions that drive data-driven decision-making.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor teams responsible for cloud/on-prem infrastructure and data, ensuring that goals align with overall company strategy and objectives.
Collaboration Across Teams:
Partner closely with other engineering teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet the needs of software, hardware, and data applications.
Ensure Infrastructure Security and Compliance:
Lead efforts in maintaining security best practices for both cloud and on-prem solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Proven experience leading and delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Lead and develop high-performing teams across cloud, on-prem, and data infrastructure groups.
Manage hiring, promotions, and performance reviews for team members.
Provide mentorship and career development support, enabling team members to grow and succeed in their roles.
Collaborate with upper management to ensure alignment of team priorities with company-wide goals.
May assist in handling discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:
Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure and cloud billing, particularly with the GCP platform.
Experience designing and managing on-premise infrastructure and data systems that align closely with cloud-based services.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining scalable service infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of data infrastructure, including data pipeline creation, optimization, and maintenance.
Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and career support.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Experience with data visualization and analytics platforms like Looker, Superset, or Tableau.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, Go, or Java.
Experience managing infrastructure security and compliance in both cloud and on-prem environments.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Experience managing both cloud and on-prem infrastructure at scale.
