Domestic Violence Attorney
will provide representation as well as brief advice and consults to survivors of domestic violence in their family law matters before the San Francisco Unified Family Court.Essential Job Functions:Provide full-scope representation, limited scope representation, and consults to survivors of DV in their family law matters.Staff monthly legal clinics, providing brief family law services, at a local community-based organization.Work closely with JDC supervising attorney and other project staff attorneys.Work closely with JDC staff on ongoing reassessment and adjustment of project design and delivery of services.Education Requirements:J.D. is required.Licensed member of the California State Bar in good standing.Experience:Three years minimum family law litigation experience.Experience working with survivors of trauma and/or low-income communities preferred.Experience working with deaf, blind, and other persons with physical disabilities preferred.Prerequisite Skills and Requirements:Excellent oral, written, and client service skills.Fluency in English and Spanish required.Able to effectively interact with low-income clients, judges and court staff, co-workers, and staff at other nonprofits.Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Equal Opportunity Employer:JDC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
