Basic Function:
The President, Lifestyle and Footwear Brands, reports to the CEO and is a member of the company’s executive leadership team. The position is responsible, in a Private Equity portfolio company environment, for stewardship of multiple high growth brands (20%+ CAGR) that will represent over $1 Billion in retail sales by 2028. Expected revenue growth from $275m to $1 billion in multi-branded lifestyle and/or footwear sales. The growth will come from product core competencies (slippers), developing competencies (footwear: athletic, comfort casual, sandals, and boots) and category development through license partners (home, sleepwear, loungewear, socks, cold weather accessories and more), and acquisitions in the lifestyle/apparel/footwear space. Direct responsibility of multiple brands P&L and oversight of the business leaders. Responsible for providing vision and leadership, executive presence, and presentation skills-both internally and to ownership, strategic direction and leading the team. Focus on digital consumer-focused, ecological/sustainable initiatives to meet or exceed revenue targets, growth objectives and brand building initiatives is expected.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop, communicate, and execute a modern, digital first, consumer centric, ecological/sustainable life-style multi-brand vision rooted in Footwear, Apparel, License brand competence.
Multi-brand vision ensures big picture strategy to meet the needs of the Brand leaders. Provides direction, clarifies expectations, and maintains accountability for the brand leaders.
Collaborates with the functional areas in the organization to execute the expected revenue and profit growth through effective management of multiple Business Unit P&L’s.
Focuses on identifying, analyzing, and solving problems within the Business Units. Uses knowledge of cross-functional teams to assess needs and make clear decisions on actions needed to alleviate issues in a timely manner.
Work with divisional leaders to set multi-channel sales and marketing initiatives. Servant leadership will enable cross-functional and collaborative execution by the team. Continued guidance of brands and elevated thinking should enable achievement of short-term and long-term goals.
Empower divisional Brand Marketing teams through investment in consumer insight/research to modernize the brand.
Create and foster a collaborative and positive culture where team members are trusted, encouraged, and supported to share ideas and execute. Committed to the team and the individual’s success and professional development. Establishes clear objectives for the team and individuals and holds them responsible for results. Ensures team receives appropriate communication, training, motivation, and rewards.
As a Member of the Executive Team, manages projects as assigned and acts as a role model for the company culture. Lead with empathy, humility, integrity, accountability, and influence.
Qualifications and Competencies:
A minimum of an undergraduate degree in business or a relevant field plus 15 or more years of multi-branded wholesale, retail, and digital/e-commerce management experience in apparel, accessories or footwear to mass merchants, mid-tier department stores, department stores, and specialty retailers, or equivalent, is required. A demonstrated success in a high growth e-commerce/Dropship/Omni company is highly recommended. An advanced degree is a plus.
At least 5 plus years of experience managing a P&L, with some experience with EBIDTA targeted goals. A proven record of success in leading multiple branded functional teams which includes developing and implementing branded strategy on both a strategic and operational level and achieving growth.
Experience in E-commerce and digital consumer business including DTC, Amazon, Omni-channel, and Marketplaces.
Proven track record of success modernizing an established branded business.
Capable of working effectively for an entrepreneurial CEO and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Strong leadership, oral and written presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently with a pro-active style and a sense of urgency is required.
A willingness to travel frequently is required.
