OverviewThis Director, Assistant General Counsel role provides legal advice and counsel for urgent cares, physician practices, and other facilities/providers in South Carolina and North Carolina. This role supports operations, including physician contracting, advice on compliance and regulatory matters, employment law, and patient care related legal matters. The ideal candidate has a blend of health care regulatory and transactional experience with a special focus on hospital operations.Job Relationships:

Reports to and receives assignments from the VP, Assistant General Counsel. Education: Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, required.Experience: 7+ years Law experience, preferably in-house healthcare setting or law firm.Licensure/Certification: Active license to practice law, in good standing with jurisdiction in which licensed, required.Additional Skills (required):7+ years’ experience in the practice of law.Significant regulatory healthcare experience, including analysis of the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), the Stark Law (Stark), the False Claims Act (FCA), HIPAA, and other federal healthcare regulations.Healthcare operational experience, including physician employment, independent physician arrangements.Familiarity with federal, North Carolina and South Carolina patient care regulations and employment regulatory framework.Excellent communication skills.Ability to handle unusual, demanding and unrelated tasks and strong organizational skills.Speed to Market: Effectively works in a fast-paced work environment to deliver results.Problem Solving: Strong analytical, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.Judgment: Demonstrated ability to act independently on information and make decisions that achieve optimal results.Additional Skills (preferred):

Experience with physician networks, managed care contracting and employment law.Experience with medical clinic operations, particularly urgent cares.

Responsibilities
