Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, chronic/acute renal failure, IV therapy, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, respiratory/thoracic care, infection prevention, isolation precautions/use of PPE, phlebotomy, surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac.Job Description:Work in a Transplant ICU with complex post-transplant patients (liver, kidney/pancreas, small intestine, islet cell, multivisceral), ESLD, ESRD, and other surgical patients.Manage patients with conditions including thoracic/abdominal/ENT/flaps/general surgery, sepsis, and multi-system organ failure.Care for pre-transplant hepatology patients and manage overflow from neurosurgery and MICU.Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.May encounter COVID patients.Work in a short-term acute care, teaching hospital with a patient ratio of 1:2.Provide care in compliance with facility requirements, including mandatory flu vaccination.Participate in a comprehensive orientation program totaling 28 hours.Complete pre-start and orientation modules, some of which are non-billable.Additional Information:No on-call requirement; weekend shifts scheduled within rotation.The position does not require COVID vaccination but requires a flu vaccination with no exemptions.
