Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) seeks a passionate, business-minded attorney with expertise in intellectual property, particularly within the video game or entertainment media industries. As a part of our Legal & Public Policy team, you will work closely with PlayStation Studios, our global collective of studios to support their efforts to create video games that inspire and delight players across the globe.This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging legal issues in a technology-forward company with a strong entertainment focus, within a casual yet dynamic environment. You will collaborate with dedicated professionals from diverse fields to help deliver world-class gaming experiences that bring joy and creativity to people everywhere.What you’ll be doing:
Draft, negotiate, and advise on a variety of agreements with external partners, including game development agreements, software and technology licenses, content licenses, talent agreements, vendor services agreements, and NDAs.Provide legal guidance and ongoing support for PlayStation products and services distributed on console, PC, and mobile.Review and clear in-game content and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal standards.Communicate legal risks clearly and effectively to business clients, providing pragmatic solutions to support decision making.Collaborate closely with teams from different regions, cross-functional groups, and legal subject matter experts to address complex legal issues and provide global solutions.Continuously enhance your understanding of the video game industry, PlayStation products and services, and legal developments through hands-on experience, industry events, and professional legal training.Who We're Looking For:
Minimum 3+ years of experience working in a law firm or as in-house counsel. You are well-versed in intellectual property law, including copyright, trademarks, rights of publicity, and contract negotiation.You hold a Juris Doctorate (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or an equivalent international legal degree. You are licensed to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction or meet the necessary admission requirements.You have a genuine interest in technology, video games, and the broader entertainment industry.
