Join Apple’s Cloud network Infrastructure team as a site reliability engineer to help support and scale cloud services.The Apple Networking team builds software-defined cloud network infrastructure as a part of Apple Cloud. Our infrastructure is a critical foundation in delivering Apple’s services (such as iCloud, iTunes, Siri, Maps) to billions of customers. We are a fast-paced organization where drive and collaboration are the keys to success. Teams across Apple rely critically on us for infrastructure that helps them build services that scale globally, are highly available, and “just work”.As a Site Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for the cloud network services to maintain high availability, scale and resilience. The successful candidate is expected to be highly self-motivated with a passion for excellence, quality and detail.DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for the entire service lifecycle from product release to deployment. Following are the key responsibilities:Leading system design engineering, software tools and platforms development, running/planning deployment logistics and capacity, and conducting launch reviews to ensure launch readiness.Define, refine and implement systematic process to ensure efficiency, risk mitigation, and scale for service launch or software updates.Collaborate effectively with partner teams to coordinate platform integration, dependency resolution and overall planning.Ensure high production quality software via implementing a thorough and extensive quality assurance platform and process.Communicate with stakeholders to ensure overall alignment on decisions and commitments.Minimum Qualifications5+ Years experience in leading a team.Production Experience in operationalizing large scale distributed, fault-tolerant, multi-tenant services.Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate concepts, designs and decisions.Experience with operating systems, network fundamentals, microservices architecture, and system programming.In-depth knowledge of K8s, system virtualization, build systems and infrastructure as code.Strong background in leading multi-functional projects.Preferred QualificationsStrong systems programming skills including multi-threading, concurrency, caching, batching.In-depth knowledge of K8s, system virtualization, build systems and infrastructure as code.Strong record of leading large multi-functional projects.Outstanding communication skills with the ability to articulate concepts, designs and decisions.BS and MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
