Senior Asset Strategy Engineer – Perth Office – Permanent Full TimeJoin our Asset Performance team as a
Senior Asset Strategy Engineer . This role is accountable for developing and applying best practice asset management strategies to deliver optimal life cycle performance for a nominated asset class. This includes the development and application of maintenance standards, condition and life assessment and risk mitigation strategies, the preparation of work plans and conducting investigations into asset failures using Root Cause Analysis techniques.As this role will include the management of wood pole assets, including associated equipment, experience in a structural engineering environment is desirable.To apply for this opportunity, please provide a current resume along with a cover letter outlining how your skills and experience are relevant to this role.Your Role in ActionDefine and document best practice asset management standards through applying subject matter engineering expertiseProvide optimal technical solutions, technical advice and problem solving on the nominated asset(s)Conduct in depth asset failure investigations using root cause analysis techniquesAssess and manage asset risks and regulatory obligationsDrive continuous improvement and innovation in the management of asset(s)Prepare and justify asset strategies and contribute to the development of asset management plansPrepare and justify prudent and efficient work plans and complex business cases for capital expenditure and operations and maintenance expenditureIn the role of sponsor, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve asset and works program performance objectives.What Makes You a Great FitDegree in Engineering (Electrical or Structural preferred)Eligible for Professional Engineer membership (MIEAust) with Engineers AustraliaEligible for Certified Associate in Asset Management (CAAM) with the Asset Management Council.At least 10+ years extensive and broad engineering experienceExtensive specialist asset class knowledge on Electrical Distribution Networks.Advanced financial analysis skillsAble to work independently and results orientedChange management and stakeholder management and engagement skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsBy joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
