POSITION OVERVIEW:The Financial Reporting Manager will serve as a key member of Fenway Sports Group finance team. This position will be responsible for calculating and recording significant and complex financial transactions according to GAAP, preparing technical accounting memos, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements including footnotes, managing external audits and owning other reporting requirements. This role will also be involved in system implementations, process improvement, and spearheading compliance initiatives.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in the month end close process and own the recording of complex accounting transactionsAnalyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights that support decision-makingWork cross-functionally on technical accounting matters and draft related analyses and memosAssist in the preparation of annual US GAAP financial statements and related footnotes at the FSG Consolidated level and for several stand-alone audits of subsidiariesCollaborate with other subsidiary management teams on their financial statement audits and other related topicsEnsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting by routinely updating processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsSupport new system implementations and maintain financial reporting systems to streamline reporting processes and improve accuracyLiaise with the external auditors to support all aspects of the annual audits including providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor queriesStay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards, ensuring the organization’s reporting remains compliantWork closely with various stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to communicate financial information effectivelySupport Controller on key accounting tasks/deliverables including ad hoc financial reports, tables, exhibits as requestedCHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - Master's degree preferred (CPA designation required)5-7 years of relevant accounting/financial analysis requiredStrong technical knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to conduct research and document conclusionsFamiliar with regulatory requirements and compliance standards for financial reportingProficient in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statementKnowledge of financial consolidations, eliminations, and non-controlling interestProven experience with process documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls in a dynamic environmentExcellent written and speaking skills including preparation and presentation of reports and recommendationsAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skillsDemonstration of the highest level of integrity and trustAdvanced Excel Skills required (Dashboards, Complex lookups, Data Conversion, Pivot Tables, Financial Modeling, etc.) and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Experience using accounting software, Microsoft Great Plains & NetSuite a plusAt the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Management, we go beyondembracingdiversity.We’re committed to living by our values, strengthening our community, and creating a workplace where people genuinely feel like they belong.Too often, job seekers don’t apply to positions because they don’t meet every qualification.
