CIBC.com .JOB PURPOSEThe Market Lead’s (ML) primary purpose is to be externally focused to drive new business revenue generation and new client acquisition. The ML will work closely with the Group Head to execute the new business strategy, serve as trusted advisor to strategic clients and be charged with development of relationship planning and strategy. The ML collaborates with the Group Head and ultimately the Relationship Managers (RMs) and cross sale partners to execute this relationship plan.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESResponsible and accountable for new strategic relationship acquisition and resulting new business generation goals.Active development and maintenance of Client Relationship Management (CRM) in order to ensure accurate pipeline forecasting.Bolster market presence within the community and industry associations with the purpose of promoting CIBC and cultivating potential prospects and referral sources.Drive new business through quality leads from wide network of referral sources and regular prospect visits.Assist in structuring new deals to bridge client expectations and bank requirements.Collaborate with RM as part of a team to ensure delivery of top-notch client service.Provide guidance during credit events for new strategic relationships, including collaboration with RM during analysis and deal approval as needed.Participate in initial Fit Assessment discussion with deals.Maintain open line of communication with client as new deal progresses through fulfillment.Assist RM in deal negotiation should an issue arise.Act as Strategic Advisor to clients - as needed.Identify new client cross sell opportunities.COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIESAs an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.For People Managers: As a manager of people, this job must ensure all employees within the business unit comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTSAs a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.For People Managers: As a manager of people, this job has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.CONDUCT & CULTURE RISK
