This person will work within ScienceLogic’s General Counsel and collegial legal department team to provide services across the company, including daily work with Sales, Professional Services, Security & Compliance, Engineering, HR, and Finance. We are a close-knit team that prioritizes a balanced lifestyle, learning opportunities tailored for individual growth, and collegiality. We strongly prefer candidates local to our Reston headquarters, but exceptionally qualified remote candidates will be considered.What you’ll be doing…Collaborate with sales/finance teams to structure win-win deals for global customers in a fast-paced, variable environment; strategically advise the sales team throughout the entire sales process.Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including technology licenses and SaaS agreements, confidentiality agreements, channel partnership agreements, data processing agreements, and statements of work, quotes and order forms.Manage procurement projects, including negotiation of key vendor contracts.Interface with outside counsel who advise the company on strategic transactions and regulatory compliance.Support ongoing administration of, and compliance with, a wide range of corporate policies.Support commercial/IP due diligence in connection with future financings and M&A.Qualities you possess…Licensed to practice in Virginia, or ability to obtain admission within 6 months.J.D. from a well-regarded, accredited law school in the United States (or foreign equivalent with U.S. LLM).3-6 years of previous experience/training related to commercial contract negotiations and/or corporate-transactional practice, with at least 3 years of training at an AM200 law firm.Superior communication, writing, analytical and organizational skills.Ability to work cross-functionally with business stakeholders and to adapt quickly and shift priorities as required to meet business needs.A positive, can-do, team-oriented attitude, and a desire to get things done effectively and efficiently in a complex and fast-paced environment.A desire to learn the details of our business, enabling you to provide legal advice that contributes to the company’s long-term growth and success.You are self-motivated, self-disciplined, and committed to performing at a high level consistently and continuously.The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take ownership for substantial responsibilities within the legal department.Additional Skills/Interests that are a plus…Experience and demonstrated interest related to information technology and software commercialization.Foundational knowledge of AIOps and machine learning technology.Expertise in one or more of the following spheres: information security/privacy law and compliance; government contracting; and/or M&A.Experience working with venture capital-backed and/or private equity-backed companies.Don’t meet every single requirement?
