Clinical Perfusionist
to join the team at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. We’ll rely on you to:
Prepare, set up and operate extra corporeal circulation devices to provide cardiopulmonary bypass support to adult patients during cardiac, major vascular or trauma surgery.Obtain and interpret relevant laboratory tests, maintain appropriate fluid volume status with crystalloid and/or blood transfusion to the circuit and give physician-directed medications to patients.Make technical adjustments as necessary to optimize the patient’s clinical status.Maintain cardiopulmonary bypass circuit platforms, cardioplegia pumps, heater/cooler machines and related monitoring equipment.Report perfusion-related patient outcomes to the Medical Director of Perfusion and assist in Quality Committee investigations and quality control programs.
Qualifications:Graduate from an accredited school of perfusion technology.Current ABCP certification or eligibility within one year of hire.Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in extra corporeal circulation techniques to adult and pediatric patients.
