This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in-office at least 2-3 days a week in our SF, CA or NY, NY office.The Role:As a member of the Data Research team at Forge Global, you will help build and establish frameworks that generate unique market insights and lead the process for in-depth analysis of venture-backed, late-stage companies based on fundamental analysis. You’ll leverage proprietary data and collaborate with teams across Forge to help market and develop actionable analysis on the private markets. Your role will involve writing thought-leadership reports, communicating Forge’s point of view on investing trends, building relationships with industry professionals, communicating timely, actionable insights to our target audience, and enhancing our product offerings with new data sets and analytics. Join us to drive impactful research that shapes the future of private market investing while embodying Forge's values of being bold, accountable, and humble.Responsibilities:Conduct research and analysis covering private investing with an emphasis on venture-backed, late-stage companies.Establish research frameworks to provide market insights, commentary, and evaluations around our coverage areas, while identifying unique themes that may impact individual companies, sectors, or the overall market.Build and maintain a research platform for Fundamental Analysis, such as financial metrics, product performance, customer case studies, and people data.Leverage Forge’s proprietary data and analytics, public and private company research notes, academic white papers, economic indicator forecasts, and other data sources to inform and develop actionable analysis on the asset class.Write and edit research and thought-leadership reports, work closely with Marketing to manage direct-to-client distribution channels for published notes and help drive overall content strategy.Work closely with Quantitative Research team members to identify unique datasets, research product ideas, and generate new insights to drive product innovation and asset class adoption.Monitor industry developments, search news and industry publications, attend industry conferences and communicate directly with investors and management teams to provide timely, differentiated, actionable insights.Develop and manage relationships with both client and non-client industry professionals to help support primary research efforts.Manage and respond to inquiries from clients, press, internal colleagues, and the public regarding published research.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or related financial services role.Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related field.Working knowledge of the private markets – venture capital, growth equity, and M&A.Experience in writing long-form research and creating data and market insights to drive content strategy.Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to translate and communicate both qualitative and quantitative information effectively to non-technical audience.Strong internal partnership skills. Ability to proactively suggest content ideas and collaborate with peers to execute, as well as respond to requests/ideas from partners and shape Forge’s response.Advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge combined with SQL proficiency.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in finance, economics, or a related field preferred.Experience with Python highly desirable.For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $220,000 - $250,000 + annual bonus.
