Director Business Development
PARAGON GROUP INTERNATIONAL, Aspen, Colorado, us, 81612
Overview:
Our client is an energy storage market leader, led by top-notch transmission-level project developers, with a strong pipeline that is transforming North America’s grid into a cleaner and more adaptable critical infrastructure.
Standalone energy storage is rapidly transforming the U.S. energy markets, because it is cheaper than new natural gas plants, faster to build than fossil peakers or transmission, and able to perform diverse energy services. Our client partners with electricity system operators, utilities, and investors to originate and develop standalone energy storage projects that provide critical services to the wholesale electric market. Our client applies an intentional mindset to energy storage development by using a data-driven approach to development.
You will be working in a culture committed to radical truth, radical transparency, and continual learning. You will excel through a game-changing mission, idea meritocracy, and supportive ecosystem. We are seeking outstanding energy project development professionals who are driven to build assets that decarbonize the U.S. energy markets and grow their own careers. Our team looks for data-driven and fact-based mindsets, engaging and collaborative behaviors, and personal growth-focused professionals.
Role:
We are looking to hire a Director of Development to support the development team in its pursuit of a portfolio of greenfield transmission-connected energy storage development projects. This individual will be responsible for ‘leading from behind’ by making sure that the team is properly equipped in terms of resources and training in order to achieve the company’s most important objective of bringing the portfolio from greenfield inception to NTP, at which point a handoff will occur to the EPC organization to bring the portfolio to NTP. This individual will be the backstop solution provider for all complex project issues in the functional areas of land acquisition and permitting, and the will be required to step in to provide solutions where necessary in the areas of off-take agreement negotiation and interconnection agreement execution.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8+ years of experience with PSS/E, MUST, TARA, Power World, or similar power flow software.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in electric transmission planning, operations, or related discipline.
Power flow, Stability and Short Circuit software (Aspen, PSSE, PSCAD).
Production costs and market simulation software (AURORAxmp, PROMOD, UPlan, Gridview, etc.) experience desirable (not required).
Utility, RTO and/or ISO experience.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Emphasis in power systems strongly preferred.
Master’s in electrical engineering preferred.
