ABOUT AUBURN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAThe spark that started Auburn Symphony Orchestra (ASO) has been lighting up south King County for more than 27 years. In 1996, Founding Conductor and Music Director Stewart Kershaw assembled a talented group of regional musicians to form a symphony orchestra. Now under the direction of Wesley Schulz, the fully-professional Auburn Symphony Orchestra has become one of the most acclaimed orchestras in the Northwest with its core of musicians from the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. Each year, the Orchestra performs symphony programs and chamber ensemble concerts for orchestral music lovers from Western Washington and beyond.The Orchestra's home is the Auburn Performing Arts Center in downtown Auburn. The Symphony also performs in the Federal Way Performing Arts and Events Center. Chamber concerts take place around the Auburn community including the Postmark Center for the Arts, Soos Creek Botanical Gardens, and the Auburn International Farmers Market.POSITION DESCRIPTIONAuburn Symphony Orchestra is seeking an Individual Giving Director to lead fundraising initiatives for the orchestra. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role plays an integral part in the organizational success of one of the best professional orchestras in the region. This position is a full-time, salary position of $62,000 annually with a flexible schedule and the possibility to partially work from home. The position requires some weekend and evening work, including concert and event attendance.RESPONSIBILITIESAnnual FundCultivate, solicit, and steward ASO’s individual donors at all levels of giving to secure annual support.Connect with the greater Auburn community through various networking opportunities to broaden awareness of ASO and grow the donor pool.In collaboration with the Executive Director, prepare solicitation and stewardship materials for campaigns throughout the season including end of calendar year, GiveBIG, and end of fiscal year.In collaboration with the Executive Director, create fundraising communications, both digital and printed.Gala and Fundraising Event ManagementCurate and coordinate mission-driven fundraising events.Manage invite lists, RSVPs, and table assignments.Assist in coordinating online and in-person silent auctions including item information, bid sheets, auction website through Auctria software, etc.Manage fundraising events including check in, bidding recording, and check out.DESIRED ATTRIBUTESThe Individual Giving Director will have a positive, professional attitude, impeccable customer service skills, and demonstrated fundraising experience. The individual will be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The individual must be authorized to work in the United States. Knowledge of orchestral music is preferred but not required.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree or suitable experience working in a nonprofit organization.2-3 years fundraising experience, preferably in the arts.Expert knowledge of Google Drive, Microsoft Office, or similar programs.Reliable access to internet during remote working hours.Professional written and verbal communication skills.Experience with databases similar to ArtsPeople, Auctria, Patron Manager, etc.Experience with capital and endowment campaigns is a plus.TO APPLYPlease submit a resume, cover letter, and three professional references to
