ANI Pharmaceuticals understands the importance of accessibility, and their products are available across a wide range of therapeutic areas, contributing to the well-being of communities globally.About the RoleReporting to the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel plays a key role within the Legal team and across the organization. This position provides strategic legal advice, ensures compliance with applicable laws, and manages complex legal matters. This role focuses on litigation matters, employment-related issues, risk management, and other matters affecting the company such as FDCA/anti-bribery, data privacy, GDPR, sanctions, and other compliance-related issues.The Associate General Counsel works within the Legal department at the corporate headquarters in Princeton Junction, NJ. This position works onsite three days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesLitigation and Employment MattersIdentify legal and regulatory risks facing the company, and develop and implement strategies for mitigating those risks while successfully enabling the company’s business objectives.Manage global litigation, pre-litigation disputes, and regulatory investigations, advising senior leadership and cross-functional partners regarding an assessment of risk, financial impact, and range of potential legal solutions.Manage subpoena compliance and response, including enhancing compliance strategy for operational effectiveness.Manage the employment and immigration legal functions, ensuring critical legal support for our HR team on employment law, compensation, and benefits matters.Partner closely with Compliance and other departments to provide pragmatic and actionable advice, develop new policies, or implement strategic revisions to existing policies/procedures as part of the company’s overall risk management.Serve as the primary advisor for document retention policies, procedures, and operations, including in-house e-discovery matters.Monitor trends and legal developments, particularly those that impact the pharmaceutical industry, analyze the implications for the company, and ensure the company is well-positioned to respond and react accordingly.Act as the primary legal liaison for all internal investigations, regulatory inquiries and investigations.Responsible for overseeing and managing ESG initiatives for the Company and for monitoring changing regulations relating to ESG. Work closely with the General Counsel and SEC team on disclosure issues.Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, such as FCPA/anti-bribery and FDA compliance issues.Support creation and maintenance of policies and procedures to manage and mitigate risks.Assist in conducting internal investigations and managing responses to regulatory inquiries and audits.Data Privacy/GDPREnsure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR.Support the development and implementation of data privacy policies and procedures.Conduct risk assessments related to data privacy and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data privacy compliance across all business operations.Provide training and raise awareness on data privacy issues among employees and stakeholders.Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized university; admitted to practice law in New Jersey.10-15 years of relevant legal experience, in a combination of law firms and in-house, with a preference for experience in the pharmaceuticals industry.Deep experience in litigation and/or arbitration, including responsibility for independently managing complex disputes with customers, third parties, or others from commencement to resolutionExperience with EU regulatory regimes a plus.Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical industry.Experience managing outside counsel and exercising strong judgment for disputes not being resolved in-house.Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to provide strategic legal advice aligned with business objectives.Meticulous attention to detail in managing legal matters.Strong capability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively presenting complex legal concepts.Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve legal issues effectively.
