POSITION SUMMARY:

Prospects and penetrate existing and new accounts within a specified region or territory to identify and pursue product opportunities in a variety of processes and applications, manage all aspects of sales and support activities at those accounts and/or assigned territories, and increase sales revenues and customer satisfaction. May travel to support customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identifies, qualifies, and pursues sales opportunities at existing accounts within assigned area.

Coordinates activities to increase sales, establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Penetrates all levels of assigned accounts on a face-to-face basis to ensure an intimate, timely, and firsthand knowledge of customer issues and create strong relationships with the customer.

Produces quotations and books orders for all sales activity at assigned accounts.

Arranges for advanced levels of support from AE customer service, applications, and engineering.

Develops account profiles, including competitive positions and sales volume, sales opportunities, company direction, decision makers, etc.

Produces and updates account strategies and tactics.

Forecasts sales in accordance with AE processes and procedures.

Works closely with AE marketing and Engineering to ensure rapid response to opportunities and effective solution to customer issues at account.

Travel to various AE sites in support of their account and build internal relationships.

Performs other duties as requested.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, laptop, copier, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven sales aptitude and sales skills, both tactically and strategically.

Strong business acumen.

Good working knowledge of thin film, semiconductor, and advanced coatings processes.

Excellent communication skills in writing, by phone, and group and one-on-one presentations.

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Ability to condense information into action lists.

Ability to exercise strong follow-up on commitments.

Strong team player.

Good problem-solving skills and strength in managing conflicts.

Computer literacy with confidence in using Windows, spreadsheets (Excel), word processors (Word), and presentation graphics (PowerPoint).

Proficient with SFDC (SalesForce).

Ability to comprehend and relate technical products and process specifications.

EXPERIENCE:

5+ years semiconductor equipment or component sales experience.

Proven experience selling and/or supporting a variety of high-tech accounts.

Working knowledge of thin film industry very important – semiconductor (PVD, ALD, CVD).

Prefer experience with vacuum science and plasma processing systems.

EDUCATION:

Essential:

BSEE or equivalent education and/or experience.

Desirable:

Advanced business degree or Course study in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or Engineering disciplines.

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 base salary per year.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.
