Heart Failure/ Shock Cardiologist for an Academic Cardiology Practice in the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area
We are actively seeking qualified candidates for a Heart Failure Cardiologist to lead the inpatient management of cardiogenic shock and advanced heart failure at SSM Health-Saint Louis University Hospital. The successful candidate will develop inpatient shock management protocols in an academic setting and lay the groundwork for a hub-and-spoke shock referral network.
The physician’s clinical role will focus on the inpatient management of patients with shock and advanced heart failure. All our physicians have outpatient and/or outreach clinics. Additional imaging responsibilities will depend on the candidate’s prior experience and interest. The physician’s administrative role will focus on protocol development, specifically with regards to percutaneous mechanical cardiac support and escalation of pharmacologic treatment. This role offers the possibility of Medical Directorship depending on the candidate’s experience and documented commitment to program development.
Preference will be given to candidates with subspecialty fellowship training in interventional heart failure or advanced heart failure or interventional cardiology. Clinician Scientist track will be considered for appropriate candidates. Active licenses in Missouri and Illinois states are expected prior to start date.
RequirementsQualified candidates will be board certified/board eligible in cardiology. Academic appointment will be commensurate with the candidate's credentials and experience.
