Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Fraud Operations Analyst II is a key role in the Fraud Operations Unit of the Corporate Fraud Division, responsible for fraud prevention, detection and recovery. The Fraud Operations Analyst II role requires a strong knowledge of operating rules for each payment solution, and software functionality. This position is responsible for performing detailed fraud monitoring and investigation of moderate to complex account activity and client behavior analyses, which includes but is not limited to Zelle, peer-to-peer (P2P) payment platforms, real-time payment (RTP) systems, online banking, wires, ACH, Check, Debit/ATM, and external transfer activity, while ensuring that all department procedures are followed. Determines action required based on established procedures to protect the Bank's and customer's assets. Position role and responsibilities must be performed in adherence to the compliance of bank and department operational policies and regulations, including but not limited to Regulation E, CC, GG, V, the FCRA, FACT Act, Bank Secrecy Act, NACHA, Visa Operating Rules.

Other duties and special projects may be assigned.Review reports from outsourced 3rd party providers who support fraud mitigation alert monitoring and performance reporting (i.e., Debit Cards, Zelle, RTP) to gain visibility into fraud patterns and contribute to new parameter setting and take the appropriate action according to applicable procedures.Analyze fraud cases to identify possible trends and points of compromise and present case analyses to Senior Fraud Operations Analyst and/or ManagementMonitor and Investigate: Leverage fraud management systems and reports to closely monitor financial activities and detect suspicious behavior across various product lines.Engage with Members: Proactively initiate contact with members to review suspicious activities, taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks and secure their assets.Provide Insightful Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of fraud cases, delivering clear and detailed reports to the appropriate teams for resolution.Provide Insightful Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of fraud cases, delivering clear and detailed reports to the appropriate teams for resolution.Review accounts and transactions for fraudulent activity and take appropriate action, such as restricting an account, debit card, Online Banking access, to prevent and/or mitigate fraud losses.May perform general account handling functions such as close account recommendation, restricting an account, debit card, Online Banking access. Routinely contacts customers and other bank associates to confirm the legitimacy of high-risk transactions prior to occurrence and takes appropriate actions to mitigate the risk to the Bank and the Customer.Manage payment related cases on confirmed fraud events, with detailed description of fraud event. Ensure all cases comply with payment systems operating rules related to electronic payments, including ACH transactions and real-time payments (i.e., NACHA).Use internal and external resources to obtain forensic evidence for investigative purposes when reviewing fraud detection reports or investigating payment cases.Ensure investigations and resolutions of payment cases comply with applicable laws, department procedures, Bank policy, and industry leading practices to reduce the Bank's exposure to civil litigation.Follow the requirements of Regulation E for the protection of consumers, ensuring timely investigation, resolution, and reimbursement of unauthorized transactions.Stay updated on changes to NACHA rules and Regulation E requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance in fraud detection and reporting procedures.Process and analyze Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) customer fraud claims according to regulatory guidelines.May perform other fraud operational functions, as assigned.Serve as a branch support and provides guidance regarding unusual, suspected/confirmed fraud, or undesirable activity.Handle inbound and outbound fraud related calls with customers and other financial institution vis multiple channels (phone, email, secure messages) to validate information and confirm authorization of transactions (wires, Debit Card etc.) or other account activity. Review and analyze accounts and customer situation that may require differentiated treatment or specialized resolution.Escalate cases to the Fraud Investigations Unit when applicable.Flexibility to work shift variations may be required to meet business needs. Possible shifts include: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM ET Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM ETAdditional availability for overtime or weekend work may be required during peak periods or for critical projects.If needed, residents in Miami-Dade and Broward County may be asked to report to Miami Lakes, FL Office Location, as needed.Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.Identifies and reports suspicious activity.EDUCATION

College Degree (Criminal Justice/Cyber security preferred), or 3-5 years of experience in the Banking/Financial industry with a focus on Digital Payment Operations And
