CNC Machinist / Large Machine 2nd shift
must be capable of reading engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique precision parts. Ideal candidate should also have experience in setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes. Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium, is a plus. 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience is a plus. Applicant must be able to work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced R&D environment with little or no assistance.The ideal candidate will be responsible for production activities related to the operation and production of goods in a manufacturing environment to optimize resource use while achieving speed, quality, and cost targets. This role will involve the use of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. Activities include planning, managing, and reviewing production operations to achieve output and quality objectives; undertaking production activities to transform tangible inputs or intangible inputs into finished products or services; developing and implementing production schedules to ensure the effective use of labor, tools, operating, monitoring, and maintaining machines and production equipment; and skilled trades and lower-level apprentice craft work.Basic QualificationsCandidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Must have experience on Fives and VTL large machines.
Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
Candidate must be able to work overtime when required.
Applicant must be able to work a full-time,
4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 2nd shift.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred QualificationsPreference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:5 axis machining experience with Siemens controls.
(2) two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool.
SURFCAM, Edgecam or Catia experience.
Experience machining in a prototype environment.
