Provides expert level technical assistance and project leadership. May provide Tier 3 senior level support when other avenues are exhausted. Strong PowerShell abilities preferred.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary Duties:Architects and designs distributed infrastructure solutions aligned with technology strategy, discretionary projects, and other demands.Implements distributed infrastructure and develops necessary documentation for ongoing support and maintenance. This includes physical and virtual servers, direct attached storage, storage sub systems, storage area networks, enterprise backup and recovery and all Microsoft enterprise software such as MS Server, System Center, SharePoint, IIS, Exchange and SQL Server.Engineers solutions based upon the functional requirements and technical designs as provided by the vendor.Utilizes 3rd party technology resources and consultants as approved by the Distributed Systems Manager or the Open System Manager and utilizes as needed.Shares knowledge and seeks guidance of others in difficult situations.Provides evaluations and opinions on specific technology solutions as requested.Expected to be the subject matter expert in a variety of technologies.Recognizes established service level agreements aligned to the solutions delivery process and works to meet those agreements.Provides level 3 assistance and expert knowledge when necessary, adhering to existing support processes.Secondary Duties:May work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.May be included in an on-call rotation.Provides guidance and mentoring to Desktop Services technicians as needed.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneMINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 30 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
