This Analyst position in the Data Services business will focus on the growth of CME Group's data distribution and revenue opportunities and assist in framing, analyzing, recommending and facilitating commercial advancement and business optimization. The analyst will support senior department staff in the strategic development of new and existing data packages to drive growth and achieve additional operational efficiencies. The individual will also assist in developing longer-term strategies by researching, analyzing, and compiling qualitative and quantitative information, customer and competitor insights in a concise and high-quality manner for presentations to and discussions with senior management and business leaders.The Analyst will be tasked with determining what information is needed to address a specific matter, where to retrieve this information and how to accurately and thoughtfully present this information so that management can make an informed decision.The individual will be expected to take the initiative, work independently, support cross-functional teams and produce high-quality work. This role will require a passion for business strategy and problem solving.
Principal Accountabilities:Develop business models in support of the data product strategy including pricing, product development, and competitive positioningProvide market research and assist team on industry trends, competitive offerings and requested/desired client product enhancements requestsExecute ad-hoc projects to identify industry trends, customer impact of potential commercial changes and deliver this and similar research in clear and business-focused formatsAssist in deriving strategic conclusions and recommendations by analyzing qualitative and quantitative information.Understand global divisional objectives and support senior team members with analytical support to protect and grow CME Data Services revenues - including new opportunity sourcingWork with and develop relationships with other business units globally to effectively analyze key client behaviors (e.g. Product Business Lines, Sales, Legal)
Requirements:Bachelor's Degree required with strong academic performance; finance concentration preferred3+ years experience in financial servicesExcellent communication skills and ability to display key findings in a succinct mannerAttention to detail and accuracy are a key prerequisite; financial modeling experience helpful but not requiredAbility to prioritize, manage, and execute responsibilities to meet or exceed team objectivesProven background in analyzing, designing and implementing processes and policies to improve efficiencies and achieve desired objectives with a strong bias towards continuous improvementSelf-starter with strong teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively across organizationsWorks towards cultivation of a culture that encourages open communication, cooperation and the sharing of informationWorking knowledge of Agile, Lean and/or Iterative Development MethodologiesComfortable with Tableau, Looker or ExcelStrong data interrogation using APIs, SQL etc.
