Role Overview:
Could you be our next OIPA Configurator IIIGlobe Life is looking for a OIPA Configurator III to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for working directly with members of the business and technical teams to gather the business and technical requirements used to configure the OIPA system. Reporting to a Manager or Director of IT Application Development, work will include project work related to implementing new functionality as well as maintenance and support work for existing functionality. Configurators will work independently or as part of a team that includes functional and interface configurators as well as system architects and product team members.
This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday)
What You Will Do:
- Work on problems involving the evaluation of specifications for complex business requirements and processes (new, enhancements, maintenance), and develop and prepare technical solutions and documents.
- Perform functional gap analysis, review design documentation and participate in design reviews.
- Review and interpret architectural and technical design documents to develop complex OIPA transactions and processes using best practice OIPA configuration techniques.
- Design logical queries to facilitate calculations, reporting and complex formula.
- Research and correct defects.
- Work with peers to identify standardization opportunities.
- Defects attributed to assigned tasks should not exceed 25% of the original work done to complete the task.
- Train and mentor other team members.
- Develop Technical Design Documents.
- Perform code reviews.
- Lead other configurators during some phases of projects and production support.
- Defects attributed to assigned tasks should not exceed 15% of the original work done to complete the task.
- Strong understanding of OIPA database schema and relational objects inherent to it.
- Develop AsFile, Real-time and Push integration services.
- Research and evaluate system capabilities for integrating product, service and technical solutions to enable business partners.
- Experience with REST services with proven ability to implement solutions.
- Expertise in entity based logical modeling and data throughput optimization.
- XSLT and OIPA configuration expertise required.
What You Can Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or other equivalent working experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of insurance life and health products for individual, group and worksite markets.
- At least 8,000 hours (4 years) of hands-on configuration experience on life or health products using OIPA V10 or V11
- LOMA certification and knowledge of typical insurance business functions including: underwriting and policy issue, payment processing, mensiversary, anniversary, disbursement, withdrawal, correspondence, nonforfeiture, lapse processing, state reporting, billing, policy servicing, product set-up, , health claims processing, life claims processing.
- Knowledge of Oracle SOA and BPM will be an asset.
- Ability to prepare and/or review complex design diagrams.
- Knowledge of OIPA interface configuration.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to align business intent with system behavior
- Adhere to defined OIPA integration best practices.
- Ability to productively work under Agile project methodologies.
- The PAS project will follow the appropriate Globe SDLC guidelines.
- Provide reasonable and accurate estimates for assigned work.
- Complete work within committed timeframes and budget.
- To ensure the program management team can make timely decisions all configurators must ensure project artifacts such as estimates, work completed, work remaining, task status, etc. are maintained daily.
- Risks that would impact the delivery of the assigned tasks on schedule are immediately communicated to the project management and/or program management team.
