We are seeking a Vascular Interventional Technologist to assist the physicians during vascular interventional radiology procedures and process and store images created during the procedure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Positions technical support for vascular interventional radiology procedures to include: arteriograms, embolization's, drain insertions, and other related procedures.Responsible for technical support for vascular interventional radiology proceduresEnsures proper safety standards are met for compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety standards, and joint commission regulations.Operates required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.Performs quality assurance checks on equipment.Demonstrates working knowledge of hospital information systemsAssists in maintaining supply inventoryAssists in departmental Performance Improvement assessments and initiativesServes as a technical resource to the full procedural team in support of the physicianCommunicates appropriately with good interpersonal skillsActs as a team member during procedures to assure a safe and efficient patient care on a daily basis.Demonstrates compliance with Christiana Care and departmental policies and proceduresPerforms duties of a scrub assistant during a procedure, including; controlling and manipulating guide wires and balloon catheters, and maintaining a sterile field.

SCHEDULE/HOURS:Out of the month:

3 weeks working in the Newark VIR department - 10-hour shifts

7am - 5:30 pm .Late shift is

11 am - 7:30pm

(rotates through all staff but primarily

7am-5:30pm ) at the Newark campusMust rotate to the WILMINGTON VIR department 1 week out of 5.

Hours are Monday through Friday

8 am - 4:30 pmThe on-call is 1 day a week - and every

5th

or

6th

weekend**Must be able to get to facility within

30 minutes for on call**

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Graduate of approved school of radiologic technologyInterventional radiology procedural lab experience preferredCurrent A.R.R.T registrationCurrent RTR Licensure with State of Delaware
