An Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) Technician or Neurophysiology Technician uses specialized equipment to record and study a patient's brain waves and other electrical impulses of the nervous system. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Performs Electroencephalogram ((EEG) extended monitoring for one to several hours to include patients who are awake, sleeping, or in a coma. 2. Performs EEG to evaluate cerebral death. 3. Performs routine EEG's, Ambulatory EEG's (24/48/72), and data review of studies including annotating. 4. Prepares patient and monitors for localized cerebral seizure focus by 16 or more channel telemetry, with video recording; performs preliminary preparation of studies for interpretation by neurologists. 5. Prepares patients and monitors for localization of cerebral seizure focus by computerized portable 16 or more channel EEG for ambulatory studies. 6. Enters test result data into Epic reporting system and well as managing the EEG system and other software/hardware necessary for the completion of the study acquisition. 7. Adapts to workflow changes and plans as outlined by Clinical Lead EEG Tech & /or Operations Manager of Non-Invasive Testing as well as the Director of Non-Invasive Testing, as is necessary to a changing environment. 8. Performs other duties as assigned by the director of the department. Our employees call it home. - Preferred: Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology - 1-3 years of experience is preferred. Willing to train new graduates. - Adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards; supports service excellence initiatives and all service excellence in all interactions with patients/family members/staff. - Knowledgeable of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system - Proficient in medical terminology related to the nervous system - Previous experience with neurophysiology methods and techniques - Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with nurses, physicians and manage difficult patients. - Basic computer and data entry skills - Experience with scoring EEG recordings - Massachusetts license is not required by law or regulation. ABRET registration as EEG Technologist at time of hire or within the year.
