Day and night shift coverageShift will be twelve hours13-26 Week Contracts36-48 hour guaranteesShifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700Travelers will be scheduledWill approve a limited amount of block schedulingWeekend Requirements: Every other weekendHoliday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minorFloating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bedUnit Specific Information

# of Beds: 55Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thriveAre RN's required to titrate drips?: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamineCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumpsIs there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: YesAre there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10-20Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit?Additional Notes: This unit typically has multiple discharged and admissions in one day- a nurse is successful on this unit when they can manage the busyness of the day, have good attendance, are a team player, friendly, compassionate, and cares about patients firstThey serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, BurmeseAdditional Details

ACLS PreferredDepartment: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & SouthNurse Aids/Patient Care Techs on this unitAre RN's required to read their own strips?What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele techs will interpret, RNs should have some tele awarenessScrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided: RNs: Navy BlueHow many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 daysHave mechanical lifts in every other room, Big focus on hourly rounding and responsivenessRadius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or DignityRTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions
