As the Pharmacy Technician II, you will have the opportunity to support of the Department of Pharmacy Services with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and patient safety.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Manage current hazardous and nonhazardous medication inventory with current par system and Special Order Process in collaboration with the Pharmacy Supply Chain team.Review expiration dates on a monthly basis to mitigate potential waste and errors.Prepare compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) using aseptic techniques and in following processes in full compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and other applicable regulationsCommunicate with practice staff regarding availability of medications and delays to coordinate patient appointments and prior authorizations for patient treatmentsMaintain a clean and orderly work area, verifying that supplies within the area are within date and stored under appropriate conditionsOrder, receive, and restock CSP supplies to meet daily demands of the pharmacyOrient and train new pharmacy personnel
Education and Experience Requirements:High school diploma required; Bachelors Degree preferredAt least 3 years of pharmacy experience requiredAt least 1 year of experience in infusion or hospital pharmacy preferredAt least 1 year of experience in sterile compounding preferredPharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required, unless enrolled in a PharmD program
