AAP NRP Advanced (American Academy of Pediatrics, Neonatal Resuscitation Program) is required for all RNs working in MBU prior to the end of orientation and renewed every 2 years.STABLE course completion within 6 months of completing orientation, and renewed every 2 years.OB ALS online course taken within 6 months of completing L&D training and renewed every 2 years.AWHONNs Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course for all L&D RNs is required and must be obtained within 3 months of completing L&D training and renewed every 2 years. BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for functioning as both a caregiver and care manager. In the caregiver role, the RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame implementing the Nursing Process. In the role of care manager, the RN directs and oversees the work of other caregivers, (nurses and non-nurses) via delegation, coordination, supervision, and validation/evaluation of patient care outcomes.NATURE AND SCOPE: The individual in this position reports to the Charge Nurse, Department Director, and other designated supervisory staff on duty. This position works closely with patients, physicians, and other clinicians in order to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. The individual will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of Patient Care Services along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES include performing assessment/data collection, implementing care, patient teaching, documentation in patients' charts, supervision of assigned coworkers, maintaining professional growth, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and safety requirements.Job Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.Current Washington State RN Licensure.Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred. Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments.Ability to perform the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire AHA or equivalent.Schedule Information
