This role focuses on using various imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment and scanning patients in all aspects of cardiac scanning, including M-Mode, 2-D, 3-D, Color, Doppler, Stress Exercise Testing, and TEE. This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. This position reports to the Supervisor of the Echocardiography Department and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements - Associate’s degree in a Radiologic Science or equivalent certification required - Candidates must meet registry requirements and be certified by ARDMS American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer as an RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or CCI Cardiovascular Credentialing International as an RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) within twelve (12) months of hire, or the position will be forfeited - Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree - One (1) to three (3) years clinical experience - Pediatric and 3-D experience
