Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5Weekends - variable based on unit needsNo set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staffSelf-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final scheduleFirst week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptorOncology experience preferred but not requiredFloating to other Med/Surg and Oncology UnitsPatient Diagnoses include: Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias, Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non hem cancers, Other benign hematologySpecial Procedures/Unit Details include: Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies like tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fallsJob Requirements
Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVsCOMPUTERIZED CHARTING - EPICSchedule Information
