Shifts are 7-7Schedules are made out for 4 weeksSelf scheduling is used but not final until the manager balances2 weekends per 4 week scheduleFor Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving, they are expected to work part of the holiday periodUnit Specific Information
Common diagnosis/Types of patients: CHF, COVID, resp, GI, Diabetics, Tele, post cath, total joint replacementAre RN's required to titrate drips: noCommon titratable &/or set rate drips they take: Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at a set rateTele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? Yes, RN’s are required to interpret stripsAre there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: Yes 1:10-15Floating Requirements: Yes, they may float to East Campus, and possibly PCU if qualifiedScrub Color/Dress Code: Navy BlueUnit/Department Specific Orientation: 1 Shift of orientation on the unit.Additional Details
Reading basic tele strips is requiredSome experience with CVA and TIACerner experience recommended as there is only one day of orientationTotal joint replacement experienceNo requirement to titrate dripsNurses are taken Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at a set rateRN’s are required to interpret strips and sign at least once a shift.
