TravelAclinical resource nurse is a registered nurse whose responsibilities exceedthat of a normal registered nurse. The main duties of a clinical resource nurseare to promote and maintain quality patient care, manage nursing operations,assist in teaching nursing staff and enforce procedures, policies, practicesand standards of the facility. A clinical resource nurse should have excellentoral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skillsand managerial skills.With a growing reputation for short wait times, almost all patients in Mt. Ascutneys ED are seen within 30 minutes or less.# of beds: 10 ED bedsTypical 24-hour patient census: 8-15 patients, anything more than 12-15 patients/day would be considered "busy"Patient Population: All agesThe ED department works with PAs!The Emergency Nurse must be able to think on your feet andprioritize quickly.Must have the flexibility to continually restructure,sometimes by the minute your time.Must be able to obtain a health history as well as completean accurate physical assessment and plan for treatment.Critical thinking and sharp decision making are essentialfor this role.Good communication skills are imperative.Must be able to deal with unplanned situations and it is notunusual to experience angry and even combative behaviors expressed by patientsor their families.Attributes for success as an emergency department Nurse arecompassion, humor, good organizational skills, and being a team player.Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better). Traveler must be willing to work TWO of the following: Thanksgiving and weekend afterChristmas Eve/Christmas Day and weekend afterNew Year Eve/New Year Day and weekend afterLocal Travelers - Those who reside within 50 miles of the facility - are not eligible for this need. Non-Billable Orientation: 8hrsHoliday and OT multipliers: 1.25%Call, Call-Back and Charge: Not applicable for this need

McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service, Mt. Ascutney is one of only two CARF accredited facilities in the State of Vermont!Windsor, VT is centrally located and close to some of the best outdoor recreation in the area. Downtown Windsor is full quaint shops, iconic diners, and a Smokehouse where you can find the best bacon in New England! The city facility is only a 3-hour drive to cities like Boston, Montreal, and New York!The hospital features 25 inpatient, medical-surgical beds and a renowned 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
