PrideStaff Financial is working with a fast-growing tax accounting firm in Pleasanton, California. We're looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager. As a Senior Tax Manager, you'll be working closely with a team of tax professionals and clients. You'll be overseeing client relationships, delivering complex tax planning and compliance, and driving the growth of the practice's tax practice. The ideal candidate is a CPA with 10+ years of experience in tax, a proven track record of working across large teams, and strong technical expertise in tax law and compliance.

Job Requirements:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or Enrolled Agent (EA) required.10+ years of experience in public accounting or tax, with a focus on tax compliance, planning, and advisory services.Proven experience managing and leading professionals.Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, including experience with complex tax returns and planning.Excellent communication and client relationship management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring and developing staff.Lead and manage tax professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support the professional growth of team members through training and development programs.Work closely with partners and other department leaders to ensure seamless integration of tax services with other areas of the practice, including audit, advisory, and consulting.Contribute to the strategic direction of the practice by participating in leadership meetings, sharing insights on tax trends, and driving operational improvements.Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem, Lacerte) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).Other Details:
Technical Expertise & Advisory:
Provide technical expertise on complex tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, international tax, state and local tax, tax credits and incentives, and other specialized areas.Research complex tax matters and deliver insightful and well-supported recommendations to clients and internal teams.Lead discussions on technical tax topics within the practice, ensuring knowledge sharing and consistent application of tax laws.Risk Management & Quality Control:Ensure that all tax engagements comply with the practice's quality control policies and regulatory standards.Monitor and manage tax risks for both the practice and clients, ensuring that tax positions taken are defensible and aligned with the practice's ethical standards.Review and sign off on tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness.Practice Development:
Collaborate with practice leadership to develop and execute strategies for growing the tax practice, including client acquisition, cross-selling services, and expanding service offerings.Participate in business development initiatives, including networking, attending industry events, and representing the practice in the marketplace.Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients, offering additional value-added services in tax and other related areas.Preferred Skills:
Master's degree in Taxation or related field.Experience in specialized areas such as international tax, M&A, state and local tax, or tax credits and incentives.Strong business development and networking skills, with a track record of growing client relationships and practice areas.Familiarity with project management tools and techniques to streamline workflow and improve team efficiency.Benefits:
