The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the daily operations of the firm, ensuring efficiency, growth, and alignment with the company's mission of providing exceptional legal services in the immigration law sector. The COO will collaborate with the leadership team to implement business strategies, manage operational processes, and lead key functions such as HR, finance, IT, and client services. The role requires strong leadership to drive performance improvements, streamline workflows, and foster a culture of excellence and compliance in a legal environment. Responsibilities: • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations by overseeing departments including HR, finance, IT, and client services, ensuring all systems function effectively and efficiently. • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and service delivery across the firm. • Collaborate with the leadership team to create and execute short- and long-term strategic goals for growth, profitability, and service excellence. • Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements specific to the immigration law industry. • Manage and monitor the firm’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management, to maintain financial health and drive profitability. • Lead and mentor department heads and staff, promoting a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the firm's mission and values. • Oversee the client services team to ensure high levels of client satisfaction, quick response times, and personalized service. • Implement and oversee technology initiatives to improve operational efficiency, case management, and client communication. • Work closely with HR to recruit, train, and retain top talent, ensuring professional development programs are in place for all employees. • Use data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make informed decisions to optimize firm performance. • Ensure optimal use of resources, balancing staff workloads, and improving workflow to meet client demand and internal performance metrics. • Foster communication and collaboration across departments to ensure cohesion and unified business strategies. • Work closely with marketing and business development teams to drive client acquisition efforts and ensure client retention strategies are effective. • Develop contingency plans to handle operational risks and crises effectively, ensuring the firm's business continuity. • Establish performance metrics and reporting structures to measure and track the success of operational strategies. • Develop and oversee a comprehensive risk management strategy to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives and compliance with industry standards. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. • 10+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the legal, professional services, or related industry. • Proven track record of leading operational excellence in a legal environment, preferably in the immigration law sector. • Strong background in financial management, process improvement, and team leadership. • Experience working with legal case management systems and other relevant technologies. • Ability to work in a standard office setting with extended periods of computer use. • Occasional travel may be required for firm meetings or industry conferences. • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines or address operational challenges. Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 yearly
