This role will partner with this customer focused group of business to work on challenging and time sensitive needs.Key job responsibilitiesAWS Finance seeks a world class Finance Manager. This position works closely with senior business partners and finance professionals at all levels to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership on AWS’s products. Key responsibilities include:Influencing business partner decisions through education and collaboration on marginal costs, pricing, customer adoption, etc.Collaborating with business partners to build and maintaining detailed cost models by product/serviceDriving the financial planning/budgeting activitiesPreparing and providing financial reporting including communicating future financial risks and opportunities to the businessDeveloping and standardizing financial reportingWorking on ad hoc financial analyses and projectsA day in the lifeThe successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business. Additional responsibilities include helping refine the capacity planning processes and modeling improvements to help drive positive Free Cash Flow.This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management. AWS is a high-growth, fast-moving group within Amazon with a start-up mentality where new and diverse challenges arise every day, but a group that operates with the full backing of one of the world’s most successful web companies.Basic Qualifications5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experienceBachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experienceExperience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of resultsPreferred QualificationsMBA, or CPAKnowledge of SQL/ETL5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experienceAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
