Job Summary
The Banquet Houseperson supports the banquet department with set up, reset and support before, during and following a banquet.
Duties and Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, hallways, storage and service areas
- Perform routine inventory and care for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware and decorations
- Set up the banquet room per the specification of a banquet events order and then reset the room to its original state after the event has concluded
- During the event, duties include assisting servers, transporting tables and equipment, reporting maintenance issues to management and providing requested information to banquet patrons
- Help assemble temporary dance floors, podiums and other structures
- Relay data to outside departments
- Assist audio-visual personnel in setting up equipment like speakers and monitors
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Six months of prior experience in the food service or hospitality industry preferred
- Basic math and language skills, including the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)
- Multitasking, reasoning, problem-solving and paying to details
- Ability to maintain poise in fast-paced, high-stress situations
- Strong customer service skills

This is a physically demanding position.
- Frequent standing and walking
- Frequent forward bending and trunk rotation while standing
- Frequent squatting, reaching both above and below shoulders
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Must be able to push and pull up to 100 lbs. on wheels
- Vision - close, peripheral, depth, distance, focus adjustment required frequently
- Frequent use of hands with a forceful grip
