This department is a family-centered birthing unit whose main goal is to provide excellent birthing experiences for patients and their families, and to promote family bonding with care and education.Position Summary:Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.Recruiter: Jennifer Lawless || jlawles2@covhlth.com || 423-492-5011Responsibilities* Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care.* Assess learning needs of patient and family.* Develops and initiates teaching plan, involving patient and family.* Recommends interventions.* Evaluates plan of care.* Resolves problems regarding less complex issues without oversight or supervision.* Member of established active hospital committee or subcommittee with 75% participation in meetings.* Demonstrates willingness to precept new employees/students as directed.* Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.* Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.QualificationsMinimum Education:None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.Minimum Experience:Must possess at least one (1) year of professional experience. Labor & Delivery, nursery experience preferred.Licensure Requirement:Valid Tennessee RN license. CPR required.N license
