Construction Manager
PTS is looking for a Construction Manager to join our team in support of a O&G client in the Refinery Industry. This will be a long-term vested assignment with possibility of hire on direct with our client. The Construction Manager will lead, manage, and oversee construction projects from planning to completion. This role involves coordinating with Project Managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of projects, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality control. Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Pay Range: $60.00-$72.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Per Diem: May be eligible for candidates outside of local area
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Some Weekends- if needed)
Hours: 40-50 hours per week
Duration: 12 months will extend (possibility of hire on)
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Management:
- Plan, organize, and direct construction activities to ensure timely completion.
- Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to keep the project on track.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor adherence to safety protocols.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards.
- Quality Control:
- Oversee the implementation of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) programs on-site.
- Ensure all construction materials and work meet required specifications and industry standards.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Manage and supervise on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and contractors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between all project participants.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate with core teams on project status, progress, and any changes.
- Resolve issues related to design changes, scheduling conflicts, and unexpected site conditions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed construction documentation, including change logs, progress reports, and safety audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting on project milestones and potential delays.
- The position is on-site at the construction location.
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required depending on project timelines.
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (Preferred)
- Proven experience (typically 3-5+ years) in construction management, particularly in oil & gas or refinery projects.
- Strong understanding of refinery operations, mechanical systems, and construction techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the oil & gas industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Construction Management and scheduling skills.
- Ability to manage large teams and coordinate multiple contractors.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or a certification in Construction Management.
- Familiarity with international standards like API (American Petroleum Institute) or ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
